Didn’t want to post this until we had confirmation that the surfer, Evan Geiselman, was okay.  There were mixed reports but he recently tweeted:

This is what happened preceding the December 6th rescue by world class bodyboarder Andre Botha according to Surfline

“Evan Geiselman was surfing massive Pipeline. After about 20 minutes in the lineup, he took off on a closeout, fell, smashed his head on the bottom, swallowed water and was held under by a three-wave set.”

There is mad respect going around the surf world right now for this Andre’s incredible response time and quite possibly lifesaving efforts and we echo the sentiment. Stay safe out there, and most of all look after each other. Be aware of yourself and those around you.   Best wishes to Evan Geiselman on a speedy recovery and hats off to Andre Botha this amazing save.
