Shrewsbury, Massachusetts — Ski Ward had a busy weekend. As part of their Fall Fest, they offered skiing and snowboarding on snow. Thanks to their Latitude 90 snowmaking system, which produces snow at above-average temperatures, the ski area offered skiing and riding. However, this wasn’t the only exciting development from this past weekend.
Last weekend, Kevin’s Rope Tow traveled to Massachusetts for his first turns of the 2026-27 season. While there, he caught up with Ski Ward’s management, who gave him a scoop.
Next offseason, Ski Ward will remove its Mueller T-Bar, which was installed in the mid-1960s.
A new T-Bar will replace it, albeit in a different location. The new T-Bar will be located at the existing Mighty Mite handle tow site. Currently, the backside of the ski area has fun terrain, but it takes a lot of skating to get back to the main lifts. This new lift will get rid of that problem. It will go from the base to the summit, meaning Ski Ward will still have two top-to-bottom lifts.
Meanwhile, we’re not sure yet when Ski Ward will reopen its lifts for skiers and riders. We do know though that in November, Ski Ward will offer lessons on the snow pile. Also, it may open to the public for a select number of days, as has been the case in the past.
