The new Canyons Village Skyway at Park City Mountain appears to be moving ahead of its public debut.
The new 10-person gondola is one of two major infrastructure projects underway at Canyons Village ahead of the 2026-27 ski season. The project will replace the iconic open-air Cabriolet with enclosed cabins, improving the connection between the lower village and the mountain’s base area.
A Major Upgrade for Canyons Village
The Canyons Village Skyway will feature enclosed cabins designed to accommodate up to 10 passengers, with large windows offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The upgrade should provide a more comfortable ride during cold winter weather compared with the Cabriolet’s open-air design.
Another significant addition is a new mid-station, which will provide improved access to the middle of Canyons Village. The gondola is designed to connect the lower village with the upper village and the resort’s base area, making it easier for visitors to move between parking, lodging, and the slopes.
The Skyway is part of Park City Mountain’s broader effort to improve transportation and guest access throughout Canyons Village.
Parking Garage Also Approaching Completion
The gondola construction coincides with the final phase of the Canyons Village Parking Structure. According to Park City Mountain, the garage is scheduled to open in early December, with access available once construction is complete.
The completed structure and Skyway are intended to create a more seamless arrival experience, allowing visitors to move more efficiently from parking and public transit into the village.
Until the garage opens, free parking will be available in surface lots 2, 3, and 4. These lots will have shuttle or walking connections to the upper village and will close once the garage becomes available.
Park City and High Valley Transit services will also remain available during construction.
