New Hampshire — You may have the foliage videos from this past weekend. It turns out traveling to New England’s most popular places during peak foliage isn’t a good idea! Who would’ve thought? Lowlights from this past weekend include the Artist’s Bluff in New Hampshire and the Stowe Gondola in Vermont.

What if I told you there’s another way to experience the foliage without spending most of the time in your car or in a lift line? If you’re a skier, you know lots of ski resorts offer scenic chairlift rides this time of the year. Some of the best options for doing this type of experience are happening at two ski areas that were recently revived.

First up, let’s talk about Tenney Mountain’s offerings. The New Hampshire ski resort is hosting scenic chairlift rides on Saturday and Sunday. This Saturday will also feature Tenney Mountain’s fourth annual Oktoberfest, with beer selections from various local breweries.

This year, guests can check out the new hiking trail at the summit. The 1-mile roundtrip trail offers a stunning panorama of the surrounding mountains and Newfound Lake. Tenney is also offering food and drink options at the summit.

Down in Southern New Hampshire, Granite Gorge Mountain Park is approaching peak foliage. The ski area is offering scenic chairlift rides on October 11th and 12th. There are also other activiites and events going on, including mountain biking, live music from Santiago, Peak Picnics, and Brews and Views. Plus, you can check out the quaint college town of Keene on your trip there.

So if you want to see the foliage in the days ahead, think outside the box.
