A season pass at one Lake Tahoe ski area comes with a surprisingly large bonus for skiers willing to travel.
Diamond Peak Ski Resort in Incline Village, Nevada, says its 2026-27 season passholders will receive at least 42 complimentary lift tickets at 14 partner ski areas across the United States this winter, generally providing three free days at each participating mountain.
The reciprocal benefits stretch far beyond Lake Tahoe, with participating resorts in Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Michigan, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
42 complimentary ski days at 14 resorts
According to Diamond Peak’s official reciprocal partner program, 2026-27 paid season passholders can receive three complimentary days at each of the following ski areas:
- Bogus Basin, Idaho
- Cherry Peak, Utah
- Cooper, Colorado
- Eaglecrest Ski Area, Alaska
- Loveland Ski Area, Colorado
- Monarch Mountain, Colorado
- Mount Bohemia, Michigan
- Mt. Ashland, Oregon
- Mt. Shasta Ski Park, California
- Plattekill Mountain, New York
- Red River Ski Area, New Mexico
- Snow King Resort, Wyoming
- Tahoe Donner Downhill and Cross Country, California
- Whitecap Mountains Resort, Wisconsin
That adds up to 42 potential bonus ski days away from Diamond Peak. Several of the partner mountains, including Bogus Basin, Cooper, Eaglecrest, Mount Bohemia, Mt. Ashland and Red River, currently list no blackout dates for Diamond Peak passholders. Others have restrictions around holidays and peak periods.
The reciprocal tickets are limited to one free ticket per person per day and are nontransferable. Some resorts may also require reservations, impose capacity restrictions or charge a media fee, so Diamond Peak recommends checking with each mountain before visiting.
The pass itself starts at $588
The benefit stands out even more when compared with the price of the pass.
An unrestricted adult Diamond Peak season pass for ages 24 to 64 currently costs $588 through Oct. 31. The price increases to $733 beginning Nov. 1. Youth passes for ages 13 to 23 are currently $495, while passes for children ages 7 to 12 and seniors ages 70 to 79 are $282.
Diamond Peak’s regular season passes have no blackout dates at the Tahoe resort itself. The resort also includes four discounted “bring a friend tickets” and other passholder benefits. Free passes for children 6 and younger and adults 80 and older do not receive the reciprocal benefits.
The arrangement gives Diamond Peak passholders access to a collection of independent and community oriented ski areas that looks very different from the destination lists associated with the industry’s biggest multi-resort passes.
Diamond Peak heads into its 60th anniversary winter
The reciprocal program is one of several updates at Diamond Peak heading into the 2026-27 season.
The community-owned Tahoe ski area is entering the second half of its 60th anniversary celebration. Diamond Peak has 655 skiable acres and 1,840 feet of vertical, with terrain overlooking Lake Tahoe. The resort is currently targeting Dec. 3 for opening day.
Diamond Peak is also evaluating several longer-term improvements. Plans include upgraded snowmaking, new chairlift infrastructure and changes to its lower-mountain learning terrain. The resort is also studying a major replacement for its nearly 60-year-old Snowflake Lodge, which could be replaced by an approximately 11,600-square-foot mid-mountain facility overlooking Lake Tahoe.
Diamond Peak’s combination of unrestricted home-mountain access and 42 potential days at partner resorts provides an alternative approach to the increasingly common large multi-resort passes. How much value a skier gets from those reciprocal days will depend on how much they travel, but for anyone planning a few ski trips outside Tahoe this winter, the partner list significantly expands what comes with a Diamond Peak pass.
