Arizona Snowbowl is giving skiers and snowboarders another reason to start planning a trip to Flagstaff this winter. The resort has announced a November 20th opening date for the 2026-27 season, weather permitting, while revealing a series of exceptionally low-priced lift ticket dates.
Eight days currently feature $1 lift tickets, while more than half of Snowbowl’s scheduled operating days are priced at $9 or less. The resort uses demand-based pricing, meaning the lowest prices are generally available to guests who purchase their tickets well in advance.
According to Arizona Highways, lift tickets in 1948 cost just $1.50 for unlimited rides on Snowbowl’s intermediate rope tow. Nearly 80 years later, Snowbowl is offering 8 days of skiing for an even lower price.
More Than $1 Million In Snowbowl Improvements
The low ticket prices come as Snowbowl prepares to debut several improvements across the mountain. The resort says it has invested more than $1 million ahead of the upcoming season.
The biggest addition for beginners is the new Sunshine conveyor, a 150-foot-long surface lift that will operate alongside the existing Big Spruce and Little Spruce conveyors. It builds on Snowbowl’s recent investment in beginner terrain, including the Aspen Chairlift that opened in 2024.
Snowbowl has also installed four tower snow guns near Big Spruce. The new equipment is intended to improve snow coverage in the learning area and help maintain connections between terrain pods.
Forest Work Opens New Lines
Summer work at Snowbowl also included forest health projects across approximately 92 acres inside the ski area boundary. Crews removed dead and downed timber to reduce accumulated fuels and improve forest conditions.
The work has opened new lines through the trees below Spur Catwalk and Midway Catwalk, around Upper and Lower Volcano, and near the Sunset Chairlift. Snowbowl is also introducing RFID access cards and self-service ticket kiosks this winter. Guests who purchase online will be able to bypass the ticket window.
Advance-purchase lift tickets also include $10 in Snowbowl Cash, while children 12 and younger can ski free all season through the Power Kids Pass.
