Chile — Chile has had a great ski season, bringing people to resorts and the backcountry to experience the Andes.
Ski Arpa is a cat-skiing operation that’s located about a two-hour drive away from the capital city of Santiago. Over 4000 acres of above-treeline terrain are available to explore. A snowcat carries skiers up the slope, and then skiers shred their way down through the powder. The views are incredible, and it features a close-up of South America’s tallest peak: Aconcagua.
Rise & Alpine was invited to come up and visit Arpa this ski season. Typically a resort or early-your-turns type skier, this was his first time cat skiing. His experience there looked incredible, with pristine powder skiing on many steep and variable lines down the mountain.
