Congratulations to Czech skateboarder Maxim Habanec who just broke the world record for longest skateboard grind after locking and sliding a 255.9 foot rails. Habanec used a cross-locked 50/50 grind to maintain balance on his record setting grind and he estimates he was traveling at 25mph when reached the bottom of the rail and landed the trick.
The 33-year-old skater is a stalwart of the Czech skate scene and the founder of Red Bull Steep Street, a skate competition held on one of the steepest streets which fuses hillbombing and street skateboarding. Maxim’s wife and two children were on hand to see him break the record and he was appreciative to have the most important people in his life witness his feat:

The previous confirmed Guinness World Record for longest rail grind was 204 ft and was set by Jagger Eaton on the set of Nickelodeon’s Jagger Eaton’s Mega Life in Los Angeles, California, USA, on October, 17th 2016. An unofficial record was set June, 2026 by Kanaan Dern after sliding 230 feet and 1/2 inch on a purpose built feature at Bam Margera’s residence known as Castle Bam in West Chester, PA.
