Washington State’s Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office has issued an alert requesting the public assistance to help in find an overdue hiker who was last heard from on June 24th while departing on a hike in North Cascades National Park.
Steven Dorsett, 55, was last seen around 11:00am on June 24 leaving the Canyon Creek trailhead on State Route 20 in the North Cascades National Park. Dorsett was planning to hike to Corral Lake but his exact route is unknown. Dorsett planned to be gone for 10 days.


Dorsett’s likely clothing and equipment include a green Marmot two-person backpacking tent, a sage green 48L Gregory Paragon backpack and a green Marmot sleeping bag with him. He is 5-foot-7 and 165 pounds.
The sheriff’s office advise the specific areas of interest are Harts Pass, Pasayten Trail, Big Craggy and the Pacific Crest Trail, according to the sheriff’s office. Anybody with information about where Dorsett may be is encouraged to call the sheriff’s office at 360-778-6911.
