World's Oldest Waterskier Bryan Murray (Born June 3rd, 1931)

Cheers to Bryan Murray who was just officially named the world’s oldest water skier by Guinness World Records.

Born in New Zealand on June 3rd, 1931, Murray’s status as the world’s oldest water skier was verified with a few laps around Lake Kereta in Auckland. Murray has been waterskiing since 1955 (age 26) after his buddy who was in the New Zealand Air Force and had seen someone waterskiing in Singapore and brought back a pair of waterskis. They pair decided to give it a go and before long he was competing in tournaments all over the country.

Murray credits a combination of an active lifestyle and quality medical care for helping him remain healthy enough to keep waterskiing into his 90s. Murray underwent a hip surgery last month but it rearing to get back on the water later this year.

Murray is the proud father of two children, has six grandchildren and another 10 great-grandchildren. Cheers to this incredible nonagenarian who can still rip slalom turns!
