Jay Peak Resort in Vermont is hosting its annual Solstice Sessions event on Saturday, June 20th, offering one final day of on-snow skiing and snowboarding to mark the summer solstice.
The resort spent the winter stockpiling and covering snow near its Stateside Carpet area adjacent to the Amphitheater. For the event, that snow will be shaped into a terrain park featuring boxes and rails serviced by a carpet lift.
On-snow tickets are available in three separate three-hour blocks starting at 9am, with the last session running from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. Session tickets are currently available for $100 online. Tickets are required for all ages, and children under 6 are not admitted free. Tickets can be purchased here.
Beyond the skiing and snowboarding, the event includes skateboarding at a skate park outside the Amphitheater and live music from The Shady Trees in the Bullwheel Bar from 4pm to 7pm. The Gear Shop at Stateside will be open from 9am to 4pm, offering select winter gear from brands including Burton, Smith, Volkl, Helly Hansen, Flylow, and others.
Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be available in the Stateside Cafeteria from 11am to 4pm. The Bullwheel Bar will serve beer, cocktails, and soft drinks from 11am to 7pm. Restrooms and portable facilities will be on-site, and emergency medical staff will be available throughout the day. All parking is first come, first served in the main Stateside lot, with complimentary shuttles running between sections of the resort.
The Stateside Amphitheater is a rain-or-shine venue, and no refunds will be issued for inclement weather. Outside alcohol, glass containers, coolers, and pets are among the items prohibited inside the venue. Doors open at 8:45am with on-snow activity beginning at 9am.
