World’s First Waterproof Self-Flying Camera Drone
World’s First Waterproof Self-Flying Camera Drone

It is our great pleasure to introduce HOVERair Aqua, the world’s first commercially available positive buoyancy and waterproof drone camera.

The HoverAir Aqua is an autonomous, waterproof action drone designed specifically for watersports like surfing, paddleboarding and boating. The system is designed around a hands-free interface where users can toss the device into the water and it automatically launches and tracks their movements.

HOVERair Aqua is a two part system starting with a 249-gram quadcopter that makes it FAA registration weight threshold compliant. It features foam flotation, IP-67 waterproof rating, and an 1.6-inch AMOLED screen with physical buttons for changing settings and reviewing footage on the fly. They are calling the remote control wrist worn remote/beacon the Lighthouse. It serves as the drone’s tracking target and has a some simple buttons to launch, call home and adjust the flight paths once it is airborne. The drone can also be controlled the Hover smartphone app.

One super neat trick that will make for some amazing clips is its camera can rotate straight down and capture underwater footage while floating before takeoff. Imagine a filming a sea turtle swimming underwater and then launching to capture a wide angle of an oceanscape in a single continuous shot (Sir David Attenborough eat your heart out).

Unfortunately the HOVERAir Aqua is not currently avialable for purchase in America due to regulations but hopefully they can get that sorted so we can try them stateside.
