Amazing turnout at East Rutherford, New Jersey’s Big SNOW American Dream, North America’s first and only indoor, real-snow, year-round ski and snowboard resort, where 30 athletes with physical disabilities came together for The Challenged Athletes Foundation Northeast Inclusive Adaptive Ski and Snowboard Clinic powered by Toyota.
The event was designed to introduce individuals with physical disabilities to adaptive winter sports in a fun, supportive, and welcoming environment. Participants had the chance to try adaptive skiing or snowboarding, learn about specialized equipment, and connect with experienced instructors and other local athletes. Team Toyota athlete and Paralympic gold medalist in Para Alpine Skiing, Andrew Kurka, was out shredding the indoor slopes and showed the newbie athletes what is possible through sport.
The event was a massive success and provided an amazing opportunity to for participants build confidence, meet others in the adaptive community, and discover new ways to stay active. Cheers to everyone involved!
