Tragic news out of Wisconsin where a 30-year-old climbing guide Audrie Pelosi died on May 30th, 2026 in a rock climbing accident at Devil’s Lake State Park. According to a GoFundMe fundraiser set up in her honor, Audrie Pelosi was a cornerstone of the local climbing, cycling, and snowboarding scene:
“She was such a bright light in this world and brought so much joy to everyone she interacted with. In my last conversation with Audrie, she joked about selling her handmade bike chain link earrings to anyone who wanted them for “free.99″. It was such a simple statement made in passing, but it perfectly encapsulated who she was as a person. Even when she didn’t have much, she would give things away freely without hesitation, whether that was earrings, a smile, a laugh, a quick bike tune up, or a belay.”
Her obituary asks friends and families not bring flowers to her Celebration of Life, rather to consider a donation to Ruff Rescue, NAMI, The Access Fund, Protect Our Winters or another charitable organization “you feel Audrie would love.”
Our deepest condolances to Audrie’s family and friends. If you would like to contribute to GoFundMe, please do so here.
