It’s almost the weekend once again, and while most people are looking for beaches, hiking trails, or some other warm activity to celebrate the end of May, we’re all itching to get back on snow. For many people that won’t be possible, but there’s still a few locations across the Western United States where skiing and snowboarding continues. These 3 ski U.S. ski areas are open this weekend.
3 U.S. Ski Areas Open This Weekend
Mammoth Mountain, California – Mammoth Mountain was set to celebrate their closing day this Sunday, May 31st, but a surprise extension announced earlier this week means operations will continue until Sunday, June 7th. Lift tickets are currently available for $129 this weekend and for $79 closing weekend, when purchased online. Act fast, the end of the California ski season is nigh!
Timberline Lodge, Oregon– The winter/spring ski season at Timberline Lodge has officially concluded, but the ski/snowboard season hasn’t. Palmer Lift is set to spin from 8:30am to 1:30pm every day, with both private training lanes and public lanes available. While a closing date isn’t set yet, Palmer Snowfield typically stays open at least until August.
Beartooth Basin, Wyoming – Beartooth Basin‘s summer-only season officially began on Monday, May 25th, now providing 7 day a week access with advanced and expert terrain serviced by two high-speed platter lifts. Beartooth Basin’s season is expected to run until around mid-June, with lift tickets costing $50 for a day. Get out there and grab some snow while it lasts.
