A paraglider in Austria took “party crashing” to entirely new level and the video is wild. The following footage comes from the base of Ifen Ski Resort in Austria where a paraglider was swooping down from the mountain to buzz over a bumping après-ski party and apparently he misjudged his approach:
Although the man connected pretty forcefully with the roofline and proceeded to slide backwards off roof to the ground, he is “safe and doing well.”
Not the only paragliding incident out of Austria to make the news this week as an experienced 44-year-old Austrian paraglider miraculously survived with only minor bruises after a small Cessna 172 sightseeing plane collided with her midair over the Austrian Alps.
The aircraft’s propeller completely shredded her main paragliding canopy, sending her into a terrifying free fall. Remarkably, she managed to deploy her emergency reserve parachute while spiraling downward and landed safely on a forest road. Both the paraglider and the 28-year-old plane pilot escaped serious injury, and the entire dramatic encounter was captured on a helmet camera.
Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incredibly rare accident, which the survivor has described on social media as her “second birthday.”
