Killington, Vermont — It wasn’t looking good earlier this week for Superstar. Warm weather led to the rapid depletion of the Superstar glacier. Killington responded that they would be skiing on Friday and Saturday, with the possibility of skiing on Sunday if the snow held up. Snow groomers put together a great route, so much so that it’s holding up better than expected.
Several hours ago, Killington Resort announced that today won’t be the final day of the ski season. They’ll reopen on Sunday, and possibly Monday if the snow holds up. The trouble Killington will deal with is how heavy the rain coming through will be, which is expected on Sunday and Monday.
The operating schedule for tomorrow is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lift tickets will cost $40, with proceeds benefiting the Killington Rec Department’s new pool project. Other activities available at Killington this weekend include lift-served mountain biking, golf, and various attractions at the Adventure Center.
It’s a great reminder for ski resorts to underpromise, which lets you overdeliver.
