Snow kayaker gets spun out @ Hochkar Mountain

Wild video from the slopes of Hochkar Mountain in Austria where a kayaker decided to take his boat down the mountain and ended up on a high speed collision course with a light tower.

The man looks to have complete 3 full rotations in under a second after smacking the metal pole and ended up capsized with his head dragging through corn snow. Not sure what the g-forces involved would have been measure to but this was quite the rotation. This is a prime example of why ski slopes are reserved for skiing only.

Remember folks, as we enter the summer season there may still be some snow left at your local ski hill but it’s not always wise to enjoy these remaining patches on anything other than skis or snowboards. Here’s Devon from Deer Valley Ski Patrol who explains why sledding and other activities are not allowed on the mountain:

“Resort terrain is not suitable for sledding, tubing, or anything of the like and may increase the risk of losing control and colliding with objects (natural or man-made). Doing so may lead to serious injury or death.” -Deer Valley
