Banff, Alberta — How good has the ski season been at Banff Sunshine Village? They’ve decided to extend their ski season into July.

Yesterday, Banff Sunshine Village had a surprising announcement. Originally, Banff Sunshine Village planned to close for the season on May 19th, which is impressive in and of itself. However, with record-breaking snowfall, they’ve decided to keep the party going.

The plan remains to close on May 19th. However, they plan to reopen for skiing and riding on June 20th. The Strawberry Express chairlift will operate for this summer’s schedule, with another lift being possible. The plan is to operate from June 20th through July 5th, making them the latest to close in Canada. In addition, their slopeside hotel, Sunshine Mountain Lodge, will be open for overnight guests. Who knows, Banff Sunshine Village may even be the last to close for the ski season in North America.

If you’re looking for an excuse to make it to Banff for the summer activities while also getting some skiing in, this could be the perfect opportunity. Good thing plane tickets are so cheap right now.
