Mikaela Shiffrin @ Mammoth Mountain

Mikaela Shiffrin is officially back on the grind, trading the celebration of a historic season and subsequent press tour for the spring snow of Mammoth Mountain. With the competition circuit fully wrapped up, the winningest alpine skier in history has wasted no time beginning her preparations for her next campaign. Mammoth has long been a favorite training ground for elite athletes this time of year, offering the perfect high-altitude laboratory for Shiffrin to refine her technique and maintain the momentum from one of the most significant chapters of her career.

The 2025/2026 season was a banner year for Shiffrin who secured her record-tying sixth overall World Cup Crystal Globe, matching the all-time women’s mark held by Annemarie Moser-Pröll. Her dominance in the technical disciplines was absolute, clinching her ninth Slalom Crystal Globe and pushing her career total to an unprecedented 110 World Cup victories. Beyond the circuit, she reminded the world of her big-event prowess at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, capturing her third career gold medal with a masterful performance in the slalom.

It’s pretty impressive to see Shiffrin back on the snow at Mammoth instead of resting on her laurels. Can’t wait to see her back in the gates next winter.
