Ski Portillo in Chile.
Ski Portillo in Chile.

After a Northern Hemisphere winter that left many skiers and snowboarders wanting, Ski Portillo looking to pick up the slack. The Chilean resort will open its 2026 season on June 20th and run through September 26th, giving riders a chance to extend their season deep into the Andes.

Portillo has long been a South American favorite among skiers for its family-owned character and high-altitude terrain. This season the resort is continuing a multi-year renovation effort, with upgrades now underway on the A and B Chalets. The updates follow the modern alpine style established during last year’s renovation of the Octagon Lodge, Inca Lodge, and C Chalets, and include enlarged sitting rooms and bathrooms, new insulated windows, carpeting, paint, and furnishings.

Portillo’s seven-day Ski Weeks remain the big offering, covering accommodations, four meals daily (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner in the Hotel dining room or the Cafeteria for Inca Lodge guests), and eight days of lift access.

Rates start at $3,250 per person for a Valley View room in Hotel Portillo (double occupancy), $2,200 per person for the Octagon Lodge (quad occupancy), and $1,650 per person for the hostel-style Inca Lodge. Hotel Portillo Suites, family rooms, and Chalets are also available.

Reservations are open now at skiportillo.com, by phone at 1-800-829-5325 (US and Canada toll-free), or by email at reservations@skiportillo.com.
