A guest-versus-guest dispute at Keystone Resort in Summit County, Colorado escalated into a physical assault on a lift operator before the suspect vanished into the woods, according to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

Mountain Safety personnel at the resort contacted sheriff’s deputies after a conflict between guests turned physical. At some point during the altercation, one of the individuals involved shoved a lift operator. The suspect then fled into the adjacent forest before deputies could make contact.

Search efforts were conducted but came up empty. The suspect was not located.

The lift operator declined to participate in prosecution and reported no injuries. Without the victim’s cooperation, the case did not move forward.

Keystone Resort is a major destination ski area in Summit County, Colorado, roughly 70 miles west of Denver off Interstate 70.
