The China Media Group just released a promotional video for their coverage of the upcoming 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics and it features a humanoid robot trudging through fresh snow.
The video was taken on a frozen lake in Altay, Xinjiang, China, an area which has a deep historical connection to skiing. The android developed by Unitree Robotics used realtime satellite navigation to achieve centimeter accuracy as it walked 130,000 steps in -40°F temperatures to create the 610 foot by 328 foot Olympic logo design:
The Unitree G1 Humanoid Agent AI avatar utilized decidedly low-tech footwear to keep its components dry while stomping out the design (plastic bags) but the end result is a testament to how far cutting edge robotics have come in 2026. This robot is currently for sale at price of $13,500. Check out the full breakdown of its features HERE.
