Brian Sutterer MD reacts to Lindsey Vonn's torn ACL.

If you somehow managed to miss the big news, Lindsey Vonn stated that she plans to compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics beginning this weekend despite rupturing her ACL in a brutal crash that occurred in Crans-Montana last week. It’s quite an impressive commitment to make and, according to some, is completely crazy.

Brian Sutterer MD, who specializes in Sports Medicine, uses his YouTube channel to discuss injuries in sports from football to hockey to fighting and beyond. He shared his opinion on Vonn’s torn ACL, specifically noting how the injury happened and how possible her success at the Olympics really is.

Sutterer is clearly skeptical about Vonn’s chances, noting that pushing herself to race won’t just be incredibly difficult, it will be incredibly dangerous. This is his own opinion, and while he does say he would advise against racing if he were her doctor, he understands that she’s fighting for what could be her last Olympics.
