Global sports entertainment leader Nitro Circus is world renown for packing stadiums to share their unique brand of electrifying action sports live events. Founded in 2003 by moto superstar Travis Pastrana, Nitro Circus are an experienced outfit that have been wowing crowds for decades with over three million tickets sold to date.
While the Nitro events may seem on the bleeding edge of control, they are very much choreographed with countless hours spent in rehearsal to make sure when its showtime everything goes as smoothly and safely as possible. Despite all the precautions put in place to make sure these athletes can perform safely, accidents can and do happen like this extremely close call with BMX rider Daniel Sandoval and what looks like a worker at the arena who was completely obvious to biker above:
“So close to disaster. Daniel Sandoval’sย insane reaction time to avoid this and not crash as well. When we say the floor is hot, we mean it!” -Nitro Circus
Thankfully Sandoval’s reaction time was lightning quick and he was able to avoid the man at the last possible moment and veer off before impacting him. BMX mega-ramp riders regularly hit 40mph on approach, so you can imagine the severity of the collision if Sandoval hadn’t made such an instinctual save. Sandoval reaction to the video was nonchalant but the consequences if he had held course would not have been casual:
“So close!! Glad it all worked out!” -Daniel Sandoval
