California โ Last week’s storm was just what the doctor ordered for California, as it allowed many ski resorts to expand their terrain. It also allowed various ski resorts in the state to finally open for the season.
One example of this is Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort, which opened for the season on Saturday.
In a video by the California ski resort, they shared what it took to open. Over a couple of days, a lot of snow fell at Dodge Ridge. Employees had to shovel, conduct avalanche mitigation, and clear the lifts before they could open to the public. Forty hours of mountain prep are typically needed to open it up, but the crew got it ready in a two-night span.
It looks like the conditions were mint for opening day, as guests were able to ski on 75% of Dodge Ridge’s terrain.
