Lake Louise, Alberta โ It’s been a fantastic start to the winter for the three ski resorts in Banff. To make things even better, one ski resort plans to introduce its new terrain expansion this week.
This past weekend, Lake Louise Ski Resort announced that the Richardson’s Ridge expansion will debut on Wednesday. This debut is well ahead of schedule, as they originally intended to open later on during the season.
Richardson Ridge offers access to around 200 acres of skiable terrain, comprising five trails and some tranquil glades. Here are the names of the five new runs:
- Skoki (easy)
- Vermillion (intermediate)
- Merlin (intermediate)
- Fossil (intermediate)
- Redoubt (intermediate)
The new terrain is serviced by a detachable high-speed quad chairlift. It’s the fourth new chairlift in five years for the ski resort, which includes a new bubble chair (Pipestone Express) that debuted last ski season.
To reach this new terrain pod, guests can ride the Grizzly Gondola and then ski down the Pika trail. If you’re a bit more experienced, you can also get there via the Ptarmigan or Old Ptarmigan trails.
