One of the wildest traditions in the world of skiing and snowboarding is back for 2025. Maine ski resort Sunday River‘s “Santa Sunday” returns next Sunday, December 14th, bringing 250+ Santas onto the slopes for a truly incredible parade and photoshoot.
The pre-registered Santas will arrive at the resort Sunday morning in full attire. To participate, they must be wearing a red Santa hat with white pompom, a red Santa jacket, red Santa pants, and a Santa beard. If they’re missing any of those items, they won’t be able to participate.
Then, at 11am, all Santas will gather for a photoshoot slopeside at South Ridge. Once the photoshoot is complete, all participants will make their way up the South Ridge Express before skiing down Broadway, a beginner-friendly green trail. Those who hope to see this spectacular event should arrive at South Ridge by 11am.
For the first time this year, participants will be given a buddy voucher in the MyAccount, which can be used either by the participant or given to a friend for use. The voucher will be useable between December 15th, 2025 and January 31st, 2026, excluding Saturdays and vacation weeks.
If you’re hoping to participate, you’d better act fast. Registration is limited to the first 300 people, so make sure you sign up here as soon as possible.
