There is a lot to appreciate about Mikaela Shiffrin when it comes to her absolute dominance on the slopes but what goes a bit under the radar is how genuinely kind she is to her fans.
Denver 9News reporter Matt Renoux aka “Our Man In The Mountains” was at the World Cup in Copper where he watched Shiffrin take home her 104th World Cup win. Shiffrin participated in all the prerequisite post race celebrations and media interviews but when the news cameras turned off, she was just getting started.
Renoux took to his personal X.com account to present a story that likely would not have made the headlines in a news industry dominated by doom and gloom. It is one which features the world’s best ski racer spending an hour in the cold after a weekend of hard racing to make sure she met every last one of her cheering section.
In the words of Matt Renoux, “That is champion.”
Straight up, this is champion stuff. Go Miki!
