Mikaela Shiffrin won her second consecutive slalom of the season in Gurgl, Austria, absolutely dominating both runs to finish 1.23 seconds ahead of 19-year-old Lara Colturi and extending her lead in the overall World Cup standings.

The result was pretty much the same as last weekend’s Levi slalom, where Shiffrin also comfortably beat Colturi. Shiffrin now has 103 career World Cup victories (66 in slalom, both records). Next weekend Shiffrin races at home in Copper Mountain, Colorado. First a giant slalom on Saturday, then another slalom on Sunday. The American superstar is looking forward to racing during the day and sleeping in her own bed for the first time this season.

“Today was exhilarating!! Not easy, never given. I’m so thankful to the team around me—all of their work has paid off again this weekend. We’re taking it all one step at a time. Having watched a good chunk of the past 2 seasons from the sidelines, I’m honestly so grateful to be part of it. Congrats to Lara and Camille…I love to see the speed of these women. Everyone is pushing and it’s so motivating to give my absolute ALL in these races. Next stop Stifel Copper Cup.” -Mikaela Shiffrin
