Wild new video from former World Cup racer David Meier who got permission from his home resort, Arlberg Ski Resort, to fly a tethered hot air ballon above the slopes and drop in from the dangling basket in a world’s first stunt.
Meier is no stranger to viral video production with previous smash hits like his homage to James Bond and what he deemed “The Most Unique Slalom Run.” His latest video project is decidedly Austrian themed with nice little touches like Meier cruising through a group of skiers having a lunch mid-mountain and perfectly slicing a Schnitzel with his skis.
Of course the skiing is incredible but you might not know that Meier is also pretty skilled on a mountain bike and perfectly comfortable buzzing by ski school kids and tossing double backflips off giant wedges made from snow.
Really enjoy the quality and cadence of Meier’s film projects as he takes about a year to gather footage and takes his time with the editing to put out fully fleshed videos, not gimmicky shorts. Its easy to understand why Arlberg Ski Resort clears the way and accommodates his shenanigans. Well done.
