Colorado Parks and Wildlife is offering free entrance to veterans, active-duty military personnel, and the National Guard into state parks on November 11th, 2025, as a thank you to U.S. military members and to celebrate Veterans Day.
Whether they’re Colorado residents or non-residents, veterans and military members can show proof of military service to receive free entrance into the state parks. All other fees, including camping reservations, boat and off-highway vehicle registrations, and hunting and fishing licenses will still be in effect.
Other military benefits offered by Colorado Parks and Wildlife include free admission in August, free lifetime small game and fishing licenses for qualified disabled veterans, and a free specialty Independence Pass. Vehicles with a Colorado Disabled Veteran or Purple Heart license plate receive free entry all year-round as well.
You can find a Colorado state park near you, including the available activities at each park, through the online State Park Finder. Colorado residents can get access throughout the year, whether their military or not, through the $29 Keep Colorado Wild Pass applied to their vehicle registration.
