This enormous motorcycle ski jump by “the modern-day Evel Kneviel,” Robbie Maddison, is still one of the most jaw-dropping stunts we’ve ever seen. Robbie sent it off the ski jump at Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah, flying 374 feet and dropping a total of 18 ½ stories, or 185 feet.
The Utah Olympic Park was initially built for the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympic Games. It sits just 25 miles east of Salt Lake City in Park City, Utah. The 400 acre venue includes six Nordic ski jumps, one of only four sliding tracks in North America, a 2002 Winter games museum, and much more. Today it serves as an official USOC training site.
Visitors to the Utah Olympic Park have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the venues, experience winter bobsledding with a professional bobsled pilot, or get their hands on an uphill pass to do some ski touring.
The ski jumps are very much still standing, and those who want to check them out up close can take a ride down the landing zone in an inner tube through the park’s extreme tubing. Extreme tubing is only available for a few months out of the year, but you can reach speeds up to 50mph while ripping down the K64 and K90 jump landings.
