Whistler Blackcomb is scheduled to kick off their ski season on November 21st, 2025, starting what could be a seriously epic winter 2025/2026. Recent snow, however, has allowed some skiers to get in some preseason powder turns. Skiing YouTuber Rise & Alpine committed to “Full on Fall”, hiking up the mountain to take advantage of the storm.
This is a very cool way to get the season going, but it’s important to remember that skiing before the resort opens isn’t always allowed and can come with serious hazards. Snow coverage is usually extremely limited, so injuries are very possible, and there’s no ski patrol to help you when you do get hurt. Skiing is always at your own risk, but it’s especially such in cases like this.
Despite not kicking off the season until late November, Whistler has plenty of events planned throughout the fall to get you hyped for winter. On Friday, October 24th, they’ll be showing ‘Beyond the Image’ & Weitien Ho’s ‘ๆญคๅป : NOW.’ Starting on October 30th and running until November 2nd is the Whistler Writers Festival, and between November 6th and 16th is the Cornucopia Festival. A full view of preseason events is available here.
