Enjoy this mid-October stoke from the Pacific Northwest where Hank Stowers went on a hunt for early season powder on ski tour up Mt. Hood. Stower toured up Salmon Canyon on October 13th after a “freak storm” and found a “surprising amount of snow.” He even tossed a backflip off a natural feature to seal the deal.

Skiing Mt. Hood in Early October!? (4k raw POV)

Stower encountered all the challenges one might expect with thin snow cover including snow sharks (submerged rocks): “Unfortunately the sharks were in a frenzy! Can’t complain this early though.” Thankfully the great whites didn’t nip too hard and Stower found some pockets of soft snow. If you are looking for early season ski stoke personified, this video exactly what the doctor ordered.

“I wish that this POV could see my face because I am just cheesing ear to ear at this current moment.”

Cheers to all the diehard skiers getting out there and getting turns at the first signs of winter. We love you.
