Park City, Utah โ Park City Mountain Resort has had to clean up some damage caused by bullets following a bizarre set of circumstances last month.
TownLift reports that a Utah man faces multiple charges after a destructive day out on the town.
On September 6th, William Dougherty had a calamitous day around Summit County. It started with him lighting his RV on fire at the Silver Creek Estates. The thirty-nine-year-old man proceeded to drive away in his truck. A witness called the authorities, and first responders and residents extinguished the fire. Crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire before it reached any other buildings.
Later that day, security cameras caught Dougherty breaking into a warehouse owned by Park City Mountain Resort. He did this by firing rounds from his rifle at the door. Yes, you read that right: he fired rounds of ammunition into a Park City Mountain Resort building. After shooting his way into the facility, he shot more rounds of ammo inside the structure. He grabbed a bourbon from inside and then departed. He was later discovered and apprehended at Deer Valley’s parking lot. However, he was released from custody later that day.
His rampage at Park City Mountain Resort’s warehouse resulted in more than $5,000 in damage to the facility and over $9,000 in repairs to an employee’s truck parked outside. Additionally, he damaged a bike inside the facility, valued at more than $1,000. Luckily, no people were hurt by the Scarface reenactment.
Dougherty faces one first-degree felony, two second-degree felonies, two Class-A misdemeanors, and one Class-B misdemeanor. The most notable of the charges is aggravated burglary. On October 2nd, the 3rd District Court Judge issued a warrant for his arrest. According to ABC 4 Utah, this wasn’t his first time getting in trouble with the law.
