Excellent use of rhyming couplets by whoever is running social media for The Town of Snowmass Village as the iconic Colorado mountain destination is experiencing their annual influx of tourists looking to take in the vistas of fall foliage.
But don’t make us chase you all over town.
We love you, we do—but here’s our advice:
Park right, peep leaves, and don’t make us cite
While Snowmass Village encourages folks to come out and immerse themselves in the technicolor autumn display, they do not condone parking illegally while doing so. It’s understandable why visitors get memorized but it’s no excuse for parking like a buffoon. This goes for leaf peepers across the country, enjoy the sights and respect the rules of the road. “Ode to the Illegally Parked”
Oh traveler bold, with camera in hand,
You’ve come to peep leaves in our golden land.
The aspens are glowing, the vistas divine,
But your parking job? A municipal crime.
Half in the trailhead, two wheels in the lane,
You’re blocking a cyclist. Are you insane?
“No Parking” signs? You scoffed as you sped,
Now a parkting ticket rests under your head.
We get it – fall’s magic, it messes with brains.
But don’t turn this season into chaos and flames.
There’s legal spots waiting, just up the road,
Not halfway up a moose’s abode.
Park like a saint, not a leaf-thirsty gremlin.
Obey all the signs. Don’t make us Greco-Roman wrestle in denim.
You came for the views, the serenity, grace,
Not a stern little note shoved in your face.
So enjoy the fall beauty, let nature astound,
But don’t make us chase you all over town.
We love you, we do—but here’s our advice:
Park right, peep leaves, and don’t make us cite
