BOA on ski boots.
BOA on ski boots.

The BOA fit system has been on ski boots for a solid few seasons at this point, with many people making the switch either for comfort, utility, or pure hype. BOA on the upper shell is still pretty new, coming out over the last year, but there’s still a semi-decent sample size of skiers who’ve given it a shot. Now that many people have tried BOA on the lower shell, boot fitters around the world are starting to get a good idea of how it impacts fit and performance.

George, Garrett, and Joe at The Ski Monster, a Boston based ski shop, sat down to discuss the BOA ski boots in detail, covering just about everything you need to know before you decide whether or not to buy a pair. If you’ve got the time, it’s worth watching the entire discussion.

I think the most important thing to take out of all of this is that it’s still important to head to a boot fitter and trust what they tell you. Unfortunately not all feet are right for the BOA ski boots, and if you buy a pair against the recommendation of someone who knows what they’re talking about, you could wind up very unhappy on the ski slopes.

So what’s the important message? Head to a boot fitter to find the right boot for you!
