El Mundo — Not everyone’s top ski resorts are the same. There are frequent names that come up on lists like this, like Jackson Hole and Whistler Blackcomb. However, not everyone has the same reasoning and criteria.
Simon Burgess’ YouTube channel is dedicated to exploring ski destinations across the world. His favorite ski resorts are an eclectic mix of places you may not have heard of, along with others that you might expect to be on such a list.
His biggest factors appeared to be terrain, modern infrastructure, snow quality, and views. There are a few North American picks on this list, including Heavenly and Sun Peaks. However, most won’t know about his number one pick: Grimentz-Zinel. While smaller than other European ski resorts, Grimetntz-Zinal’s varied terrain, modern infrastructure, and good off-piste powder skiing made it the number one pick.
Not gonna lie, disappointed Mount Sunapee wasn’t his number one pick. Jokes aside, is it the perfect list? No, as he admits that he hasn’t visited all the major destinations, like Whistler Blackcomb. However, the video below is a good watch for those who are looking to add more ski resorts to their bucket list.
