Quebec โ€” It’s sounding more and more like Club Med will be building its second Canadian resort at Mont Tremblant.

A few months ago, it was revealed that Club Med was looking into building a new hotel at Tremblant. Last week, the leader of Club Med, Gregory Lanter, shared a progress update on the proposed Club Med hotel at Mont Tremblant. A few weeks ago, Mont Tremblant resort officials met with Club Med leaders. Next up is finding the right financers, finalizing architectural plans, and getting the needed permitting. The goal is to start construction in 2026 and open the resort in December 2028.

The hotel is expected to have around 300 rooms and be situated on the Versant Soleil side of the mountain. It would result in around 300 jobs for the area. Tremblant previously planned a terrain expansion and new chairlift on the Versant Soleil side, but has yet to implement it.

Club Med opened its first Canadian ski resort in 2021 at Le Massif. In an interview with Travel Weekly, the CEO of Club Med North America & Caribbean (Carolyne Doyon) stated they’re in talks with an unnamed party over opening a US location. Its most recent attempt was at Snowbasin, but it was cancelled.

Why is Club Med attracted to Tremblant? Situated around two hours away from Montreal and its international airport, Mont Tremblant is known as Quebec’s most famous ski resort for several reasons. First off, it features an expansive village that feels like you’ve been transported to France. Secondly, the large terrain network gives various options to every skier and rider. Also, the apres ski isn’t bad either. Summer is also a busy period for Tremblant, thanks to its walkable village, activities on the mountain, and access to Lake Tremblant (real original name).
