Tamarack Resort in Idaho has shut down all on-mountain activities for today in response to fire activity in the surrounding area that grew last night. It’s not clear exactly how big the fire is, where it is, or how it started, though CBS 2 Boise reports that a fast moving thunderstorm that moved through the area between 9:30 and 10:30pm might have sparked it.
Nearby Fires Close On-Mountain Activities
For today, August 13th, Tamarack Reosort has suspended all on-mountain activities for the safety of both guests and staff. That includes all lift-served activities, cross country trails, ziplining, and the Mid Mountain Lodge. Golf at Osprey meadows, Tamarack Marina & watersports, dining outlets including Clearwater Coffee, Village Market, and Seven Devils Taphouse, and the Spa at Tamarack remain open to guests.
Tamarack Resort was forced to suspend operations last summer when the Lava and Boulder fires grew nearby the slopes. The fires began separate but merged on Monday, September 9th, 2024. Fortunately the resort didn’t have to suspend operations for much more than a week.
