Tragic news out of NSW, Australia where a 22-year old snowboarder died in a accident at Perisher Ski Resort’s advanced terrain park.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports emergency services were called the ski resort located in Kosciuszko National Park at approximately 2:30pm on Tuesday afternoon. Police were advised a 22-year-old man “had been injured after a crash.” A helicopter and several ambulance crews responded and the man was treated by paramedics at the scene but was pronounced at the resort.

A Perisher spokesman confirmed the “serious incident” happened at the advanced terrain at the Front Valley Terrain Park. Perisher vice president and general manager Nathan Butterworth told NewsWire they were devastated by the news.
