Mikaela Shiffrin said “auf wiedersehen” to the heat in America and hopped a United flight to Germany with her oversized luggage for a bit of indoor ski training. Shiffrin showed up with her full racing kit to the alpincenter Hamburg-Wittenburg, Europe’s largest snow and leisure park, and from the looks of it she had the entire place to herself to make some hot laps in the month of August.

Sommerskifahren with Mikaela:

Details on the trip are scarce and its hard to say it was more of an obligation to her sponsors or honest to goodness training mission but one thing is for sure, Mikaela has been crushing it in the gym preparing for the upcoming race season and we can’t wait to see her represent Team USA at the 2026 Winter Olympics Games hosted by the Italian cities, Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
