With the Major League Pickleball Tournament coming up this weekend in Salt Lake City, The Utah Black Diamonds decided to have a bit of fun with the US Ski Team and they may have stumbled upon the funnest way to play the fastest-growing sport in the United States.
Pro pickleballers Connor Garnett and Allyce Wilson-Jones headed to the U.S. Ski & Snowboard USANA Center of Excellence and brought along a pickleball net which they set up in the facilities halfpipe. The pair of pros battled it out with some of America’s best skiers and by the look of it, adding wall shots to pickle totally rules.
If you have ever played padel or racquetball, you will be familiar with playing balls off the wall but its new territory for pickle. Here’s how it looks:
Now don’t go running down to your local halfpipe thinking you are going to kickoff the skaters to play dink shots but cool to see some of the pickleballers in the world adapting to a new dimension of the sport.
