SNOWMASS VILLAGE, Colorado – As part of around $80 million in improvements, Aspen Snowmass is replacing the Cirque platter lift on Snowmass with a new T-Bar, effectively doubling the uphill capacity into the mountain’s iconic high-alpine terrain.
On mountain teams have been working alongside teams from Leitner-Poma of America to get the lift replacement doe, and the project has been moving along with speed and grace. So far the teams have removed the old lift and its towers, placed foundation forms, and received the new lift towers and lift shacks.
The lift replacement project has been done with extra caution to reduce its impact on the area’s sensitive tundra. The new project will eliminate the Cirque’s iconic angle towel while doubling the uphill capacity. Meanwhile the components from the former Cirque platter lift will be sent over to Wolf Creek Ski Area for use as spare parts.
