Tubers collide with cattle.

Tubing accidents are unfortunately fairly common throughout the summer months, but this one stands out as rather unique. Typically tubing accidents occur when riders collide into each other or suffer a particularly nasty wipeout. You don’t usually think of cows as a potential obstacle on the water.

There are plenty of questions that can and probably should be asked after watching this video, like why were the cows there in the first place? Why didn’t the driver notice the cows and stay well away from them? Why is the boat getting that close the shore in the first place, given how shallow it clearly gets?

Cattle isn’t usually something you need to be aware of while tubing, but there are plenty of steps you can take to increase your safety while out on the water otherwise. Know your equipment and boat, always wear a life jacket, use a spotter, and drive responsibly. Drive alert and sober and check that the rider is ready to go before you hit the gas.
