The Grand Canyon National Park just announced some heartbreaking news, as wildfires have resulted in devastation for the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Today, Grand Canyon National Park confirmed that structures like the Grand Canyon Lodge, visitor facilities, and employee offices were destroyed by the Dragon Bravo Fire. It’s estimated that 50 to 80 structures in the North Rim have been destroyed. The fires intensified overnight, resulting in their arrival in the North Rim. However, there was no loss of human life.

Due to this, the North Rim will not reopen for the 2025 season. The following trails remain closed: North Kaibab Trail, South Kaibab Trail, Phantom Ranch, and the Bright Angel Trail below Havasupai Gardens.

For more information about this evolving situation, a press release from Grand Canyon National Park is below.
