Glacier National Park is reminding visitors that those hoping to enter Many Glacier will be required to use the temporary Many Glacier Day Hiker Shuttle beginning on July 1st unless they have wilderness camping permits, commercial service reservations, or lodging reservations.

Many Glacier

Tickets for the Many Glacier Day Hiker Shuttle will be available seven days in advance, released each morning at 8am. Tickets will also be available at 7pm the night before entry beginning on June 30th.

The Many Glacier Day Hiker Shuttle was created as a solution to day hiker access to Many Glacier Valley during the Swiftcurrent Construction Project. Each person will need a ticket to ride the shuttle, with one person able to purchase up to 4 hiker shuttle tickets per $2 reservation fee. If more than 4 people are in one group, another $2 reservation can be purchased by the same person for 4 more tickers up to a total of 8 tickets. Tickets can be purchased on Recreation.gov.

Access to all trails will begin at the Many Glacier Hotel parking lot during area construction. Maps and signs will indicate required detours around the construction zone and hikers should be prepared for an increase in the total hiking distance of planned trails. Those without a Day Hiker Shuttle ticket, wilderness camping permit, commercial service, or lodging reservation should not drive into the valley past Babb.

No general parking is available along the Many Glacier Road and hiking and biking will not be allowed on the road between July 1st and September 21st.
