Heads up if you are in the market to own your own little piece of Washington State ski history as the auction for Alpental’s historic Edelweiss Chairlift is live. Chair 2 carried skiers and riders into the heart of Alpental’s steepest and deepest terrain for generations and you can bid on one of 55 original Edelweiss riblet chairs until June 25th at 9:00pm. Also up for auction, the bullwheels and auxiliary generator. All proceeds benefit local youth-focused nonprofits. Find complete details below:
The Edelweiss Chairlift Auction Details:
This is your chance to take home a legendary piece of Alpental – the iconic Edelweiss Chair that we have all grown to know and love as Chair 2. More than just a chair, this green riblet is a symbol of steep lines, deep days, and the spirit of our mountain community. Now, you can preserve the legacy of Chair 2, and make new memories with your loved ones from years to come.
We will be utilizing Givergy, a third party, online platform specifically designed for digital auctions and raffles. 55 chairs will be sold through a silent auction format with the minimum reserve of $500.
Are you feeling lucky? Five chairs will be available as prizes in a digital prize draw at $5/ticket. There is a 20 ticket maximum per person.
The auction and raffle will be open Monday, June 23rd at 9am through Wednesday, June 25th at 9pm. This will give you time to place bids, purchase raffle tickets, and spread the word to all your friends.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will be collected by the Boyne Forever Foundation and will distributed to a variety of local non-profits. Those non-profits include Encompass NW, Easton Schools, Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation, and Cle Elum Roslyn School District. Raffle proceeds, and the total proceeds from 5 of the chairs will be distributed between these various non-profits at the discretion of The Summit at Snoqualmie.

Auction Details
- The Summit is auctioning chairs using a silent auction format.
- A total of 55 Edelweiss chairs will be available for purchase through auction.
- Auction winners must pick up their chair on Saturday, June 28th from 9am-12pm or Tuesday, July 1st from 3pm-6pm.
- Bidders are required to set up a Givergy account and input a valid credit card.
- Only winning bidders will be charged.
Chair Details
- Chairs do not come with seat or seat pad.
- Chairs and stems are connected as a single unit.
- Not all chair numbers are available, and chair numbers cannot be reserved or pre-chosen.
- All chairs are genuine, used chairs and have their own sets of blemishes, imperfections, and unique character.
- Chairs are sold “as-is” with no warranty, expressed or implied, associated.
