Bretton Woods, New Hampshire — It’s shaping up to be one of the busiest offseasons in years at Bretton Woods.

The New Hampshire ski area will be replacing the Bethlehem Express with a new detachable high-speed quad chairlift. In addition, they will be sculpting a new glade on the mountain.

In a new episode of Slopeside Spotlight, Céline McArthur detailed the latest on the Bethlehem Express project and the new black diamond glade that will be next to it. The chairlift replacement project is allowing them to add a new glade between the Upper Swoop and Upper Express trails. The new glade starts with a steep cliff section and settles into a more modest pitch. After the cliffs, it’s a relatively smooth ground surface, meaning there are not a lot of rocks or other hazards. The video below analyzes what the trail will be like and how the construction process is going.

The new chairlift and glade are scheduled to open during the 2025-26 season.
